Testimony- Amir the Evangelist

4–5 minutes

Greetings in the peace of Christ!

My name is Amir, and I am from Pakistan. Today, I would like to share my testimony with you.

I was born and raised in a Christian family. However, my family was not deeply committed to the  Christian faith. My mother attended church regularly, while my father only went occasionally. Although I  grew up in a Christian home, I never had a personal desire to know God. I never wondered whether God  loved me or wanted a relationship with me because I had never experienced Him personally.

Instead, I believed in the Big Bang Theory and the theory of evolution. I thought there was no God at all.  As I grew older, I attended a Muslim school in Pakistan. Many of my Muslim friends invited me to accept  Islam. I did not take offense because I knew that I did not truly know Christ or believe in the God of  Christianity. In fact, I did not believe in any god. I was even willing to accept Islam simply to please my  friends and maintain good relationships with them.

However, their invitation sparked a question in my heart: Why not study the world’s major religions for  myself? So, I began studying Christianity, Islam, Judaism, and later learned about Hinduism and Sikhism  as well. My purpose was not to convert to any religion but simply to discover what each religion taught  about God.

During this time, I enrolled in a Bible college. I studied the Bible and even trained to become a pastor. I  served as a Sunday school teacher, a youth leader, and participated in the church worship team. Yet,  despite all of this, I did not have even one percent faith that I was serving the true God. I was doing  these things only for people. I had never truly encountered God.

Then one day, everything changed.

I attended a youth worship meeting where young people were worshipping with guitars and music. I  was sitting quietly in the back with my eyes closed. Suddenly, I felt someone touch my heart. In my heart  I asked, “Who are You?” Immediately I heard the answer: “I am Christ.”

Before that moment, I had studied many religions, but none of their gods had ever touched my heart. I  was living in sin—sexual immorality, lying, deception, and many other sinful habits. Nothing had  changed my life.

But when Jesus Christ revealed Himself to me, my life was completely transformed. My sinful lifestyle  was broken, and I became a new person. From that day forward, I desired to know Christ more deeply  and continued studying His Word.

About eleven or twelve years ago, God gave me a powerful vision and revealed Himself to me in a life changing way. Until then, I did not even understand why I had become a pastor-in-training, a Sunday  school teacher, or a youth leader. Those things were not my calling, and I had never truly met God. But  in that encounter, everything changed.

Later, I attended a Vision School where God gave me His heart for the nations. He reminded me of the  words of Jesus in Matthew 28:18–20, where He commands us:

“Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of  the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you  always, to the very end of the age.”

God also spoke to me through Matthew 24:14.

“And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and  then the end will come.”

At that moment, God’s vision filled my heart. I wanted to go and preach the Gospel, but I was serving  under a senior pastor, so I asked for his permission. He replied, “Suppose I become a Muslim. How  would you share the Gospel with me?” I answered honestly, “Pastor, I don’t know how to share the  Gospel.” Even though I was in ministry training, I was not yet prepared, so I could not go.

A year later, God gave me another opportunity to attend Vision School. This time I received deeper  training and a clearer vision for reaching the nations. After completing the training, I stepped out to  preach the Gospel.

Now, after about eleven or twelve years, God has used me throughout many parts of Pakistan. Even  today, He continues to use me every single day to share the Gospel with people who do not know Him.

Jesus said that the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost. God continues to use me daily to reach  those who are lost and bring them the message of salvation.

I give all glory and thanks to the Lord for what He has done in my life. This is my testimony: God took a man who did not even believe that He existed and transformed him completely. Today, by His grace, He is using me to reach the nations, proclaim the Gospel, and lead people to salvation.

Hallelujah! All glory be to Jesus Christ.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
