I gave him a ride. It was a short ride, but something very important happened during that short journey.
As we started talking, he shared about his family. Some members of his family have jobs, while he works as well. He told me that he can read Urdu, although he is not highly educated. During our conversation, I asked him, “You are working hard in this world, but what preparation are you making to enter the place of heaven?”
He told me that he was not highly educated, but I could see that he was understanding what I was saying. His heart was very open and receptive. Even when he first sat with me for the ride, I felt very joyful in my heart to have an opportunity to speak with him. I asked him, “If you give me permission, can I share the message of heaven and the Word of God with you?” He was very happy and said yes. When we reached his destination, he gave me the opportunity to share with him and said, “Brother, please tell me. I want to listen.” I then shared with him in detail about sin—how sin has entered and ruled over humanity. I also connected this with the place where he lives. He lives near a hospital, so I said to him, “Look, you live around a hospital where you see both life and death. People come to the hospital to have their physical bodies examined, but people do not normally come to the hospital to have their souls examined.”
I asked him, “When a person’s soul is sick, where does that person go?” He said, “Nowhere.” I explained that the soul is affected by sin, and I shared with him the seriousness of sin and the consequences of sin according to God’s Word. But then I told him, “Brother, there is also a solution. God has provided forgiveness and a way out of sin. If you give me an opportunity, I would like to share this with you.”
He immediately said, “Yes, yes, please tell me, brother. I am listening.” Then, after explaining the seriousness of sin, I had the opportunity to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with him in detail. I explained how Jesus Christ was born into this world through a virgin, how He gave His life on the cross for your sins and my sins, how He died and was buried, and how He rose again from the dead on the third day and ascended into heaven.
I told him, “Jesus Christ is alive and is in heaven. He is the One who conquered death and offers salvation.” He was very surprised by what he heard. He listened to me with great curiosity and focused very carefully on everything I was sharing with him. At the end of our conversation, I gave him an invitation to know Jesus Christ and to receive Him.
He then asked me if I could give him something to read because he wanted to read the Gospel himself. So I gave him a copy of the Gospel/New Testament, which you can also see in the picture.
There are people whose hearts are open and who genuinely desire freedom from sin, but the way of salvation is found in Jesus Christ.
Please pray that as Mu___ You___ reads the Gospel, the Holy Spirit will work in his life, reveal the truth to him, and transform his heart. He also took my phone number, so please pray that I will have the opportunity to continue communicating with him and discipling him.
May the Lord change his life, illuminate his heart, and lead him into His truth.
Amen.
